Market Analyses for Five Online Degree Programs
A university, disappointed with enrollment levels in its online degree programs, contemplated partnering with an online education service provider to revise and relaunch five online offerings. Before formalizing their collaboration, the prospective partners agreed to retain Tom Clay & Associates, Inc. to analyze the programs’ markets and gauge their financial viability. Using existing information gleaned largely from government agencies, professional associations and competitors’ websites, we analyzed the programs’ target markets, demand drivers and competitive landscapes; ascertained enrollment and completion levels needed for the programs to prosper; and offered recommendations addressing how to maximize their chances of success. Because five programs were being considered, we supplemented the individual reports with a summary report comparing all five.
